The Central School PTO is looking for a few talented Central parents to take over some special projects that are Central School’s responsibility in 2009/2010.

District Calendar Chair:
Central School is responsible for coordinating the information, production and printing of the 2009/2010 D96 District calendar. This position is best filled with an individual knowledgeable with the software Microsoft Publisher. You will have the opportunity to work with the Ames, Blythe Park, Central, Hauser and Hollywood PTA/O Presidents and one school Principal to secure dates, prepare drafts and send to the printer for production. Past documentation and procedures are available to understand the process and the past chair is available to answer any questions.

There is one meeting scheduled for Wednesday, May 27, 2009 at 8:45am at Hauser to meet the above individuals and discuss the calendar development schedule. All other information is obtained via email as the PTA/O Presidents will give you their calendar information in June with 2 draft reviews in June/July and completion in early August for printing and distribution to the individual schools.

District 5th Grade Games School Coordinator:
Every year, the 5th grade parents organize a fun, social game night for the 5th grade students from Ames, Blythe Park, Central and Hollywood to bring them together in preparation for the next step to Hauser Middle School. An individual is needed to coordinate the other school volunteers and plan this April Friday night social event. Past coordinators are available to answer any questions.

District Halloween Activity Coordination:
The downtown business district is changing and so is the Halloween windows project. With some limestone store fronts, some businesses would prefer their windows not be painted, thus it is time to develop another district-wide fun kids program to create some Halloween excitement. Central School is responsible for the Halloween Window program in 2009 and an individual is needed to coordinate this new district wide program. The program will then rotate to Blythe, 2010/2011 and Ames, 2011/2012.
