All District 96 parents, friends and family are invited to this year’s PTO program on Wednesday, January 12, at 7:00 pm in the Hauser Auditorium. We’re very excited to bring you the knowledge and wisdom of Rush Neurobehavioral Center’s Director of Education Services, Dr. Georgia Bozeday. This program is for adults only, please. If you have any questions please contact our Hauser PTO President, Fran Sitkiewicz at fransit@sbcglobal.netThe start time of 7:30 in the district calendar is incorrect. We will begin the program promptly at 7:00 pm following the Hauser PTO meeting, which starts at 6:00 pm in the Hauser Library. (The PTO meeting agenda is available here.)

Dr. Bozeday is a leader in current research on Executive Functions. Executive Function skills impact student performance across all subject areas in school. What can parents do to help their children develop executive function skills? Dr. Bozeday will present an overview of current research from neuroscience describing the impact of the 21st Century influences on students today. She will focus on recent findings related to media use and learning. Dr. Bozeday will provide recommendations for parents as they work with children at home on these concerns.

Additionally, this presentation will provide parents with practical strategies from the field of Executive Functions to help them guide students at home. Discussion will primarily include strategies for organization and time-management.
