Welcome back!  We hope you all had a wonderful holiday break.  January is a busy time for the PTO, and we hope you will join us for some of our upcoming events!

Central’s annual book fair is coming!

The book fair runs from Tuesday, January 30 – Friday, February 2, in Hauser Auditorium. Set up for book fair will start on Monday, January 29 at 12:30. If you are interested in helping set up, contact Tracy Bohrer at: tjgett@yahoo.com

Stay tuned for a sign up genius coming soon to sign up to help classes go through the fair. We will also have our Winter Wonderland Social on Thursday, February 1. More information is coming. Stay tuned!

Your Loose Change Will Make a Big Difference!

The Central Book Fair is coming and KidsCare is helping children in need with the All for Books program. Please be on the lookout for a small baggie with information on All for Books attached to be sent home in your child’s backpack on Monday, January 8th.

If you are interested in participating, please have your child bring their donation in the bag in to their classroom container by Thursday, January 18th

Regardless of whether you participate, we request that you return your plastic bag to your teacher so that we can be as green as possible and reuse them each year.

The All for Books money will be used at the upcoming book fair being held January 29 through February 2 to buy books for students at Central School needing assistance. Additional monies will be used to donate brand new books to the Ann and Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital in Chicago.

Then, Scholastic will match the funds and donate books to the Kids in Distressed Situations Inc and the Kids in Need Foundation.

The classroom raising the most money will win a pizza party!!!  This is a fun, competitive program that, more importantly, teaches our children the importance of giving back.

Please contact KidsCare Chair, Kelly Holakovsky at kjholakovsky@gmail.com, if you have any questions.

This month’s Dine Out for Central restaurant is La Barra!  Skip cooking for the night and a portion of sales will go to the PTO! We hope to see you there!
