Photographers & Photos Needed for Roadrunner Yearbook!

Posted Feb 1, 2012 | Category: Everything Else, Volunteering

We’re in need of volunteers for photographers and photos for the 2011-12 Roadrunner Yearbook.

Being mid-way through the 2011-12 school year, we need to focus on the Roadrunner Yearbook and make sure that we have all events/ topics covered with photos.  If you have photos from past events, you may submit them on a CD, a flash drive, or via e-mail.     I’ll return these items back to you once they have been uploaded to our photo site.  If you have photos of any of the events below, or can volunteer to photograph future events, please contact me.  Thanks so much for your help!

If you can help,  please contact Jacquie Mathis 630-430-9948 or jacquiemathis@yahoo.com.

Last Year’s Roadrunner Yearbook

Posted Jan 25, 2012 | Category: Everything Else

Did you forget to buy a copy of the Roadrunner Yearbook from a previous year?

There are stacks of free yearbooks in the office from 2001-2011.  Come and get them!  They will be recycled if not picked up by the end of this week.

If you are unable to pick it up in person at the school, e-mail Amy Jacksic at pres-amy@centralptonews.org to arrange to have one sent home in your child’s backpack.

KidsCare Collection

Posted Jan 25, 2012 | Category: Everything Else

Through your generosity, KidsCare was able to collect $1023 for the Holiday gift card program for families in need!  Thanks so much for your contributions to this program. Your amazing generosity this year has brought tears to my eyes. This is my last year at Central, and it has been wonderful to see how generous and caring everyone has been over the past years.

Thanks again,
Cheryl Dowling

Volunteers still needed for the Book Fair next Thursday night!

Help!

We are still in need of volunteers for the book fair during the evening of Thursday, February 2nd.  This evening is traditionally when we sell the most books to benefit our school so we need as much help as we can get.

We need multiple volunteers during the following two slots:

6-7pm
7-8:30pm

If you can help, please email gentilej@centralptonews.org with your preferred time slot.

Winter is here. Please display the YELLOW PLACARDS in the car windows.

Now that Winter weather is officially here, please have your yellow placard displaying your family name in your car window at pickup each day. If you need another one, please contact the school office.

Thanks!

Central School Book Fair, January 30 – February 2

Posted Jan 16, 2012 | Category: Everything Else

Hula on over to the upcoming Central School Book Fair Luau !

Location:  Hauser Auditorium

Dates:  Monday, January 30th – Thursday February 2nd

(Friday the 3rd will be spent tying up loose ends)

Time:  8:00 am – 3:30 pm

During the week of January 16th your child will bring home a Scholastic insert advertising a very small portion of the books that will be available at our upcoming fair.  Please preview this with your child.  Every child will shop the book fair during the week of January 30th and will bring their wish list home for you to review.  If you decide to purchase any of the books your child picked out from the fair, he/she may return the wish list, along with payment (please do not forget to include sales tax), back to school. If you prefer to look at the books yourself with your child, feel free to stop by before or after school hours when you can shop together. We are also open during the Luau Social during the evening of Thursday, February 2nd.

And, this year we will have a book fair website where you can shop for everything that we have to offer at the fair plus much, much more.  If you or other family members or friends choose to shop online instead, the books will be delivered to Central for free AND we still earn money from your purchase!

Every $10.00 that you spend at the book fair is worth $5.00 in free books for our school. The books we earn go to our school library and classrooms and to book grants for Central School students in need.

Whether or not you purchase a book, we hope your child enjoys the fair!

Read to Succeed

Log all of the hours read and receive a free ticket to Six Flags Great America! The ticket also comes with a discounted admission ticket offer for your family.

All reading logs need to be turned into your child’s teacher on or before February 24th, no exceptions.
