Roadrunner Weekly, October 23-27: Hurricane Relief/Science Fair/Box Top Winners

Posted Oct 23, 2017 | Category: Fundraising

Our Hurricane Relief fundraiser was a huge success!  On Friday, students purchased strips of duct tape and taped Mr. Gatz and Ms. McMahon to the wall at recess!  Students who brought in $20 or more we allowed to put a whipped cream pie in Mr. Gatz’s face!  We raised over $1600 for animal shelters in hurricane effected areas, and we think you could hear chants of, “Pie the Principal!” all over town! Everyone on the blacktop seemed to be having a wonderful time, and we are very grateful to both Ms. McMahon and Mr. Gatz for being such wonderful sports. THANK YOU FOR YOUR SUPPORT!

Central School Science Fair Tuesday November 7th from 6-8PM

  • WOW! We set ANOTHER new record with 194 students. If you don’t have a student participating, then please consider helping to support the event. We need a few folks to volunteer for some short shifts to help with set up, welcome crew, photographs, and judging.  Thank you! www.signupgenius.com/go/5080548a5a622aa8-central2
  • After your shift, you can enjoy looking at what discoveries were made by Central School students.  See you at the fair!

Friday is the last day to turn in Box Tops, so let’s get clipping!  Clipping Box Tops is an easy way for you to help our PTO earn some extra money to fund some of its many programs.  Box Tops are worth 10 cents, and they can quickly add up to real cash for the Central School PTO.

Please turn your Box Tops into the office! If you don’t have Box Tops to turn in this time, please note that our next collection date is March 1.

Roadrunner Weekly October 15-20: Dine Out Night, Hurricane Relief Fundraiser

Posted Oct 15, 2017 | Category: Community, Fundraising

Big news from Central!  Central School PTO is excited to announce that we’ve partnered with local restaurants to benefit the PTO! A portion of sales on a designated night will be donated back to the PTO. Our first “Dine Out” for Central Night is this Wednesday at Mollie’s Public House in Riverside. Take a break from making dinner and doing dishes for a night, have fun seeing friends and family and help support Central School PTO programming!

Please invite all your friends and make sure to tell them to let Mollie’s know you are there for Central School!

See you Wednesday!

Hurricane Relief Fundraiser

This week the Central School PTO is partnering with Central School to help raise funds for animals in the many disaster areas in the United States and Puerto Rico. The money raised will be donated to animal relief efforts in Puerto Rico, Florida, Texas and California from the devestating hurricanes and wildfires.
We are super excited! Mr. Gatz and one teacher will be duct taped to the wall during recess on Friday, October 20th.
We will have 5 jugs in the front hallway each morning this week. As students come to school, they can drop spare change into the jug representing the teacher they would most like to see duct taped to the wall! The teacher’s jug with the most coins on Thursday will be the teacher who will get duct taped to the wall with Mr. Gatz! The teachers who will be participating are:
Mrs. Marotta (1st Grade)
Ms. Sherman (2nd Grade)
Ms. Pauga (4th Grade)
Ms. McMahon (5th Grade)
Mr. Howes (Music Teacher)
During recess on Friday, the students will be able to purchase duct tape for $1 and duct tape our principal and teacher to the wall!  As a special treat, and for a good cause, Mr. Gatz has also volunteered to allow any student who donates $20 or more to purchase a plate of whipped cream and cover Mr. Gatz’s face with it!  Wooohooo!
Let’s see how much we can raise and help the animals!!! Thank you so much to Mr. Gatz, Mrs. Marotta, Ms. Sherman, Ms. Pauga, Ms. McMahon and Mr. Howes for helping out for such a great cause!
NOTE: Parents or Kindergarteners who would like to watch, are welcome to come to the playground at 12:20pm on Friday and watch the fun! Please do not come earlier, for safety reasons.
If you have any questions, please contact Wendy Dockter at wendydockter@gmail.com

Our Science Fair registrations have started coming in!  Still need help deciding on a project?  Come to one of our mentoring sessions this week!  Sessions will be held on Wednesday (10/11) and Thursday (10/12) in Ms. Brackett’s classroom.  Don’t forget, the registration deadline is October 20th.  Register here!

Central School is once again participating in the Box Tops for Education program.  Clipping Box Tops is an easy way for you to help our PTO earn some extra money to fund some of its many programs.  Box Tops are worth 10 cents, and they can quickly add up to real cash for the Central School PTO.

Last year, our school earned about $550, which was below our goal of $1,000.  This school year, our goal will once again be $1,000, but we need all of your help to meet that goal!

To do that, just look for pink Box Tops on products, clip them and send them to school in a plastic bag or envelope clearly marked with your child’s name and grade.

The top five students who submit the most Box Tops will each receive a gift certificate to Aunt Diana’s!

For more information on the Box Tops for Education program, including a list of participating products and our school’s progress, please visit www.BTFE.com.

Be sure to become a member to receive exclusive coupons and recipes and learn about extra ways for our school to earn.

Our first submission of Box Tops is November 2nd!  Please turn in your Box Tops collection to Central School by Friday, October 20th!  The second submission is March 1st.

Please contact Kristen Smith at kristensmith1015@gmail.com with any questions!

Deadline for Box Tops!

Posted Oct 2, 2015 | Category: Fundraising

This information was originally posted on October 2, 2015. Please note that the article refers to events from a previous school year.

Central school is currently registered with three products programs that support education. We typically earn over $600 form the Box Tops for Education Program each year. We also earn cash from the Tyson A+ Program. Our PE program benefits by gaining new equipment from points earned via the Campbell’s Labels for Education Program.

Our first submission deadline for our Box Tops for Education program for this school year is 10/23. Simply tear off labels or UPC’s and send them to school in a baggie or envelope. Please write your child’s name on the envelope so that he or she may be entered into a drawing for a prize. Your child may deposit them in the collection bin outside of the school office.

And don’t forget to register your Jewel or Dominick’s frequent shopper card through elabelsforeducation.com and earn double the benefits for Central!

See the following attachments for details on how to clip, eligible products and for more information on the programs. Watch for updates on how your efforts help our school!

Target RedCardDid you know there’s an easy way to help us raise money for our school?  It’s called Take Charge of Education, through Target, and it’s helping our school right now.  Here’s how it works:  Visit www-secure.target.com/redcard/tcoe/home to designate our school, then use your REDcard whenever you shop.  When you use your REDcard (Target Visa Credit Card, Target Credit Card or Target Debit Card), Target will donate 1% of your purchases to the eligible K-12 school of your choice.  (See the website for complete Take Charge of Education program rules.)

Don’t have a REDcard and would like one?  It’s easy to apply.  Get started in person at any Target store or go to www-secure.target.com/redcard/application.

Also:  grandparents, alumni, friends and neighbors are all welcome to participate in the program.  The more people we involve, the harder the program works for our school.  If you’re already participating, thank you!
