Our PTO collects Box Tops from various products and redeems them for cash and other supplies.  Many of our P.E. and recess supplies come from these programs.  The next deadline for submission is the end of February.

The collection boxes are located outside the Central office.  The following flyers list all the box tops that we can redeem for points.

Our CPA reviewer has to stop reviewing our books due to tightened CPA audit rules.   She recommends forming an audit committee of PTO members.  Our bylaws allow for such a committee and was actually our review process a decade or so ago.  We will be requesting members as our fiscal year June 30th gets closer.

In an effort to be  a self reviewing organization, we need to tighten our cash deposit methodology.  Going forward all deposits must accompany by the Deposit Form. This Deposit Form can be found on the PTO website and in the treasurer’s blue envelope on the office.

Also the following guidelines need to be followed:

• All cash and checks must be given to the Treasurer within 5 days of receipt.
• No amounts are to be paid with cash receipts or personal checks to vendors or anyone who needs to be reimbursed.All payments for PTO business should be in the form of a check drawn on the PTO’s checking account.
• Include the Deposit Form with all deposits given to PTO Treasurer.
• Include a detailed spreadsheet listing all receipts with name, check number, and check or cash amount.

This year, lower your taxable income with a check to the Central PTO-before December 31, 2009.  Giving to the Central 100% Fund directly benefits your children with terrific PTO sponsored programs and activities that enrich their education all year long.  Your entire contribution is a tax write-off since the Central PTO is a 501(c) (3) charitable organization.

So far, there has been good response to the 100% Fund.  We have collected over $6,000 towards our yearly goal of $10,000 and we sincerely thank those of you who have contributed so generously!  Giving is optional, but without your support we can’t fund the PTO.

Parents are encouraged to contribute a suggested amount of $100 per family, but any amount is greatly appreciated and will be well utilized.  Please donate now for your 2009 deduction!
