Who: Ghouls in grades 1 – 5
Painting Dates: 10/16, 10/17, and 10/18
Sign up: return the participation form by Friday, 10/10/08
Cost: $5.00 (cash or check payable to Ames PTA)

Ghoulish painters will need to provide their own supplies:

• Washable paint only please! School-use tempera (no acrylic/craft paint)
• Paint brushes, sponges
• Newspaper (to keep the sidewalk clean), water, paper towel

The Halloween Windows Chairperson from Ames needs help with taping the windows in downtown Riverside for the Halloween window painting that will take place next Thursday, Friday and Saturday (October 16-18).

Taping will start next Monday (Columbus Day), continue on Tuesday, October 14th and finish on the morning of Wednesday, October 15th, if needed. We also need help on the 16th and 17th to help man the tables at St. Mary’s from 4:15 to 5:15 p.m. when the window assignments are passed out. If you can help at all on one of those days (Monday and Tuesday are no-school days) even if it’s just for 30 minutes, please contact Joan Janopoulos via email at joan@amespta.org.

It’s time to decorate Riverside’s business district with Halloween paintings created by our ghouls and goblins! If you are interested in painting the town, please look for the Boo Windows flyer in your child’s back pack next week (10/8/08).

For centuries, Central School parents have given their “souls” so as to entertain the kiddies allowing the room parents ample time to create the Ultimate Halloween Extravaganzas available to human children on this planet for their classrooms parties.

Ok, to sum up, basically it is an AM commitment (9-11) for 2 weeks in October (called rehearsal.) You put on a show, (just once.)

Kids laugh (hopefully.) Then they leave. Parade. Party. Trick/Treat. Go to bed wound like a tight rope. (Much screaming if memory serves…)
