Objective:
Plan a fall and spring social family fun night that brings Central School families together.
The Chair responsibilities:
- Prepare a concept for a fall and spring family fun night
- Contact PTA president with plans for approval
- Research and choose vendors to determine costs and stay within budget
- Contact committee members to enlist assistance prior to and during the event
- Finalize the plan after approval from PTA president and Principal.
Example evenings:
Fall Family Night 2007 was held on Friday, September 28, 2007 from 5:30-7:30pm behind the school on the blacktop. Planning was completed in the summer with the volunteer sign up sheet distributed and emailed once school began.
- DJ
- Hip hop lessons
- Moon jump
- Games borrowed from Hollywood School
- Popcorn, cotton candy and water jugs served complimentary
- Hot Dog, Chips and soda pre ordered from Heavenly Hot Dogs
- Approximately 32 volunteers signed up to work games and distribute food.
Spring Family Night 2008 “Dinner and A Movie” was held on Friday, March 7, 2008 inside Hauser Jr. High.
- Pizza and sodas pre ordered and paid for prior to event.
- Pizza was served in the Hauser cafeteria at 5:30 and 6:30pm because of space considerations.
- Michael Anthony’s supplied pizza and soda was purchased at Sam’s.
- Two movies, one “G” rated and one “PG” rated were shown at 6:20pm and 7:20 respectively in two Hauser gyms.
- Free popcorn, candy and water bottles were served as people went into the movie.
- Approximately 20 volunteers signed up to run movies, distribute pizza, soda, popcorn, candy, water and monitor the halls.
